Improving Health Care Practices in the Context of Infection Prevention and Control in Central Asian Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan Under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
The purpose of this program is to provide technical assistance to Central Asian Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to improve their safe-injection practices and related procedures in the context of infection prevention and control by:
demonstrating successful implementation and adoption by host government of safe injection practices and other related procedures, including but not limited to phlebotomy, blood drawing, intravascular catheter use etc, at a pilot site; developing training materials for host government to incorporate in their training program for health care workers; and by developing and/or modifying host government's national injection safety and related procedures plan in the context of infection prevention and control.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a work-plan for as many countries as possible; however, the final determination of country assignment and activity will be determined at the time of the award.
