Mitochondrial-associated Mechanisms of Neuropathological and Immunodeficient Aging in the Context of HIV and SUD (R21 Clinical Trials Not Allowed)

To promote research investigating protective and pathogenic mechanisms at the nexus of mitochondria function and aging in the context of HIV infection and exposure to addictive substances.

We anticipate this foundational knowledge could be leveraged to develop targeted therapies and improve outcomes


in people aging with HIV, substance use and addiction.
