Development of Quantum Computing Technology

The U. S. Army Research Office (ARO) announces the availability of Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) No.

W911NF-10-R-0007 for Development of Quantum Computing Technology.

ARO together with the National Security Agency (NSA) solicits proposals for basic and applied research to advance quantum


computing technology.

Research areas of particular interest include:
(1) Robust solid-state qubits and related technologies; (2) Short-to-medium-range quantum information transfer in solid-state systems; and (3) Ideas, methods, and procedures for the verification/validation of quantum computing components.

The BAA contains additional information along with instructions for white paper and proposal preparation and submission.

White papers are strongly encouraged but are not required.

White papers must be submitted electronically to whitepapers@arl.army.mil and be received no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Time on 24 May 201 0. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the Grants.gov portal at http://www.grants.gov and be received no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Time on 12 July 201 0. Technical POC is Dr. T.R.
