Aquatic Habitat Restoration for the Lower Osage River Protection and Enhancement Program

The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is seeking an qualified entity to assess, design, and implement 2 - 10 aquatic habitat restoration projects within the lower 82 miles of the Osage River, in central Missouri, from Bagnell Dam (3 8. 203937; - 9 2. 624393) to the confluence with the Missouri

The total amount of funding available for this announcement is $1,000,00 0. The number of aquatic restoration projects completed during this project period will depend upon final project costs, but at least two projects will be completed and as many as 1 0. Currently, the Service and Missouri Department of Conservation have identified and prioritized specific aquatic habitat restoration project opportunities within the lower Osage River.

The entity will work closely with the Partners on all phases of the project.

Substantial involvement on the part of the Service is anticipated for the successful completion of the activities to be funded.

In particular, the Service will be responsible for the following:
providing guidance and expertise throughout all project phases, share the list of the specific potential restoration opportunities, approve selected projects before implementation, assist with establishing the required landowner partnerships, carry out environmental reviews, assist in project permitting, and conduct post-project aquatic species monitoring.
