Land managers within the Oregon Coast physiographic province control noxious weeds individually.
Occasionally cooperative treatments with a few land managers are done successfully.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Forest Service, Coos County Weed Advisory Board, Oregon State Parks and
some timber companies all have a need for cooperative weed management with adjacent landowners and have verbally agreed to work together within the framework of a Cooperative Weed Management Area.
Coordination and development of a Cooperative Weed Management Area will bring land managers together and formalize cooperation and prioritization of inventory, infestations, and treatments to improve efficacy and weed control success.
BLM has agreed to provide office space for a Coordinator.
