U. S. Embassy Brasília-Brazil intends to implement the project through a grant agreement.
However, we are focusing on creating local capacity on cutting edge education and English teaching; therefore, applicants should incorporate local engagement and capacity building in these areas in their
proposal.
Through the program participants will gain a better understanding of the importance Americans place on freedom of speech and expression and the historic and ongoing role a free press plays in sustaining American democracy; have any misperceptions dispelled that the that USG controls American media outlets; learn about the latest trends in technology, innovation, financing, etc., being used by media outlets in order to strengthen their sustainability; and, learn about civil society efforts to ensure and protect both freedoms of press and expression

Additional Information of Eligibility:1) Eligible Entities: Applicants who are eligible to apply are U. S. and overseas-based Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), who are able to respond to the NOFO and be able to mobilize in a short period of time.
To be eligible for a grant award, in addition to other conditions of this NOFO, organizations must have a commitment to non‐discrimination with respect to beneficiaries and adherence to equal opportunity employment practices.
Non‐discrimination includes equal treatment without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, gender, and political affiliation.
Applicants must have a demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following subject areas: developing and executing people-to-people exchanges, programming in the area of education and culture, international cooperation, and institution-to-institution partnerships.
