Fiscal Year 2012: The primary purpose of this project is to establish a cooperative effort for the purpose of providing financial assistance to Churchill County for its participation in the Dixie Ground Water Export Study.
The primary beneficiary is the State of Nevada and Churchhill County.

Fiscal Year 2012: The Dixie Ground Water Export Study will determine how much water is available for export from Dixie Valley, and evaluate the feasibility of conveying the water to various points of use within Churchill County, Nevada. It is to be completed in three phases over a 5 year period, beginning in early 2009, concluding in 2014. The first phase includes data collection/analysis to develop an understanding of the study area"s hydrogeologic framework, ground-water flow, and water quality. The second phase will include development of ground-water models for estimating hydrologic impacts and analysis of associated economic and environmental impacts. Uses and Use Restrictions
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, of amounts made available under section 2507 of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (43 U.S.C.
2211 note; Public 107-171), the Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Commissioner of Reclamation, shall Use, in consultation with the Corps of Engineers, as applicable, $5,000,000 to study and prepare plans for the development and construction of a pipeline to convey water from Dixie Valley to Churchill County, Nevada.

Audits
