USAID/SENEGAL - ACCESS TO EDUCATION

Through the Access to Education (A2E) addendum to the YouthPower 2 (YP2) Annual Program Statement (APS) No.

7200AA20APS00007, USAID/Senegal seeks to enhance foundational skills and inclusive workforce development to improve livelihoods for Senegalese youth, particularly those from marginalized


and underrepresented backgrounds.

The A2E addendum seeks applicants that propose innovative concepts to support out of school children and youth in Kolda, Sedhiou and Kédougou to gain access to quality and inclusive learning and training opportunities while simultaneously strengthening community engagement and prevention of gender based violence in learning environments.

L'USAID/Sénégal, à travers l'Addendum à l'Annonce de programme annuel de subventions (APS) 7200AA20APS00007 YouthPower 2 faite dans le cadre de l'Initiative Accès à l'éducation (A2E), cherche à impliquer les jeunes et leurs communautés afin de renforcer les compétences de base des jeunes du Sénégal, en particulier ceux issus de milieux marginalisés ou sous-représentés, et à favoriser la formation d'une main-d'oeuvre inclusive susceptible de renforcer les moyens de subsistance de cette catégorie de la population.

Sont visés par l'addendum A2E, des propositions de concepts innovants susceptibles d'aider les enfants non scolarisés et les jeunes de Kolda, de Sédhiou et de Kédougou à accéder à des opportunités d'apprentissage et de formation de qualité et inclusives, tout en renforçant simultanément l'engagement communautaire et la prévention des violences basées sur le genre dans les contextes d'apprentissage.

Eligibility restricted to Local and Locally Led EntitiesDefinition 1: Local Entities: An individual or organization that: Is legally organized under the laws of Senegal; Has its principal place of business or operations in Senegal;Is majority-owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Senegal; andIs managed by a governing body, the majority of whom are citizens or lawful permanent residents of Senegal.

Definition 2: Locally Established Partners (LEPs): A U. S. or international organization that works through locally led operations and programming models.

LEPs: Have maintained continuous operations in Senegal for at least five years and materially demonstrate a long-term presence in a country through adherence or alignment to the following:Senegalese staff comprises at least 50% of office personnel;Maintenance of a dedicated local office in Senegal;Registration with the appropriate local authorities,A local bank account; andA portfolio of locally implemented programs.Have demonstrated links to Senegal, including:If the organization has a governing body or board of directors, then it must include a majority of Senegalese citizens (in the host country, this is not required);A letter of support from a local organization to attest to its work; andOther criteria that an organization proposes to demonstrate its local roots.
