Guatemalan Citizen Security Partnership Program

Within this overall results framework, USAID is particularly interested in applications related to the following themes for this APS:
1. Violence prevention, especially building community resilience to chronic violence, including intra-familiar violence, trafficking-in-persons, extortion, homicides,


violence against women, violence against lesbian, gay, transgender, and bisexual (LGTB) groups and other common violence in Guatemala; 2. Civic responsibility, promoting active citizen engagement and service related to preventing violence and crime.

Promoting crime prevention practices within local or national governments or monitoring existing efforts; 3. Community and police collaboration, specifically strengthening citizen engagement with local authoritiesÂ’ efforts oriented towards violence prevention (in accordance with Leahy vetting procedures ).

An illustrative example would be early warning systems; 4. Alternative Dispute Resolution and/or establishing/strengthening justice networks, and dialogues; 5. Activities to strengthen capacities of traditional and non-traditional justice operators.
