Community Health Equity through Systems Strengthening (CHESS)

The CHESS program will strengthen community engagement in health service delivery in Cameroon by ensuring adequate community participation in the national health response, stronger community involvement in health promotion and improved accountability to Civil Society.

The program will be implemented


across all ten regions of Cameroon and target key disadvantaged groups.

The proposed technical approach is described in more detail below:
Goal and expected resultsThe CHESS program will employ community engagement approaches to achieve equity and improve health outcomes through the following results:(Result 1) Improved community monitoring and surveillance systems.

(Result 2) Strengthened State and civil society interaction to improve access to health services and programs.(Result 3) Individuals, families, and communities are equipped with knowledge and tools to address health situations.
