CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $50,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.
This NOFO will support the South African Government (SAG) to further the scale-up of VMMC services in 27 high-HIV-burden
districts, with a particular focus on areas with low male circumcision coverage.
The support is expected to contribute to the SAG rapid achievement of ≥ 80% of VMMC coverage in males aged 15-2 9. Recipient(s) will be expected to work closely with CDC, the SAG, PEPFAR-supported implementing partners, and other VMMC program stakeholders to implement the following strategies:
Implement effective and innovative demand creation strategies to promote the uptake of VMMC services; Employ evidence-based service delivery modalities to ensure high-quality, high-volume, cost-efficient VMMC services to improve service uptake; Support the implementation and integration of VMMC services into the comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment service package; Build the capacity of all VMMC service delivery personnel by providing quality training, mentoring, skill-building, and ongoing education; Strengthen the management of forecasting, procurement, quality assurance (QA), storage and distribution of VMMC surgical kits and other VMMC-related commodities; and Provide technical assistance (TA) to support the transition, integration, and monitoring of direct VMMC services to the Department of Health (DoH) and to public health facilities.
