Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program

CSEPP is funded under the chemical demilitarization program, a major defense acquisition program executed by the Department of Defense.

CSEPP augments the Army’s Chemical Materials Activity (CMA), whose mission is to safely store the stockpile by ensuring maximum protection to its workers,

the public, and the environment.

CSEPP resides within the Technological Hazards Division (THD) of the National Preparedness Directorate of FEMA.

FEMA’s role is executed through a national office at FEMA Headquarters and the FEMA regional program offices where chemical installations are located.

The following entities may apply for a Learn and Serve America Higher Education grant from the Corporation: 1.

An institution of higher education.

2.

A consortium of institutions of higher education.

3.

A higher education partnership, as defined in 45 CFR § 2510.20 – One or more public or private nonprofit organizations, or public agencies, including States, and one or more institutions of higher education that have entered into a written agreement specifying the responsibilities of each partner.
