709a, USFWS Region

3 Division of Migratory Birds seeks to integrate the Great Lakes Migratory Bird Stopover Portal (http://glmigratorybirds.org), updated spatial planning layers, and data from new/ongoing monitoring programs into the Midwest Avian Data Center (http://data.pointblue.org/partners/mwadc).

This work will directly support the Midwest Landbird Migration Monitoring Network and Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Landscape Conservation Cooperative, thereby enhancing our ability to conserve birds during the migration seasons in our region.

Integrating updated spatial planning layers into the interactive map tool will enhance our ability to target conservation to those areas where the return on investment is expected to be highest.

Finally, integrating prioritized datasets from new and on-going monitoring programs will facilitate working group understanding of conservation and management effectiveness, contribute to full life cycle population modeling, and increase rigor of conservation planning efforts for priority bird species and habitats.

The project will run from September 1, 2016 to September 30, 2018, funded at $49,00 0.
