DPA Title III Thin Wall Castings for Military Applications Project

The DPA Title III objective of the Phase 1 effort is to maintain, modernize, and expand existing domestic, economically viable, merchant supplier production capabilities in the manufacture of complex, large, multi-core magnesium and aluminum sand casting products for rotorcraft platforms.

Scope:
The capacity expansion will be achieved through a mix of government and recipient investments to recapitalize aging foundries and strengthen a diminishing supply base in order to meet DoD rotorcraft part requirements.

Investments will focus on a series of measures designed to increase production efficiencies and/or improve part quality, thus reducing lead times, reworks and costs.
