The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U. S. Department of Labor (DOL, or the Department, or we), announces the availability of approximately $1 million total costs for one cooperative agreement to fund a technical assistance project(s) in Peru to build the capacity of workers’ organizations

to effectively engage with their constituents, employers, and the government to address the abusive use of short-term employment contracts and unlawful subcontracting.
The project will achieve its goal through the following objectives:
1) improved education of workers regarding their rights with respect to short-term employment contracts and subcontracting, and 2) improved representation of workers before employers and the government to address abusive forms of short-term employment contracts and unlawful subcontracting.
The project must target workers’ organizations and workers in non-traditional export sectors in Peru, with an emphasis on those sectors where abusive short-term employment contracts and unlawful subcontracting are widely used.
The duration of the project will be a minimum of two years (24 months) and a maximum of three years (36 months) from the effective date of the award.
