Integrated Photonics Institute for Manufacturing Innovation

The objective of this solicitation is to select an award recipient to establish an Integrated Photonics Institute for Manufacturing Innovation (IP-IMI).

The IP-IMI will accelerate research, development, and demonstration in the manufacture of integrated photonic components and circuits; to include


Institute initiatives in workforce development and technology demonstration.

This Institute is envisioned to bring together large and small businesses, academia, and federal and state agencies to accelerate innovation by investing in industrially relevant manufacturing technologies.

The IP-IMI will serve as a technical center of excellence, providing the innovation infrastructure to support integrated photonic manufacturing enterprises of all sizes and ensure that the U. S. photonics sector is a key pillar in an enduring and thriving U. S. economy.
