FHIP Initiatives.

The following is a listing of the FY2013 FHIP program initiatives (See chart in section III.

A.

for all eligibility requirements and a listing of related components):
1. Private Enforcement Initiative (PEI).

This Initiative provides funding

to private, non-profit fair housing enforcement organizations for the investigation and enforcement of alleged violations of the Fair Housing Act.

2. Education and Outreach Initiative (EOI).

This Initiative provides funding to organizations that inform the general public about their rights and obligations under the Fair Housing Act.

3. Fair Housing Organization Initiative (FHOI).

This Initiative provides funding to establish new fair housing enforcement organizations and to support the continued existence of fair housing organizations in building their capacity to enforce the prohibitions on discrimination set forth in the Fair Housing Act.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible applicants are QFHOs and FHOs and other private nonprofit fair housing enforcement organizations and nonprofit groups organizing or building their capacity to provide fair housing enforcement for the purpose of supporting the continued development or implementation of initiatives which address mortgage lending discrimination, and provide education about enforcing the prohibitions on discrimination set forth in Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 as amended.
