FY18 Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) Program

The purpose of the CRISI Program is to assist in funding capital projects that improve passenger and freight rail transportation safety, efficiency, and reliability.

At least $35,547,000 of the funding is available for projects that contribute to the initiation or restoration of intercity passenger

rail service.

Of the CRISI funding made available in the 2018 Appropriation (including amounts available under this NOFO and the CRISI PTC NOFO) at least 25 percent, will be made available for Rural Projects as authorized under 49 U.S.C.

24407(g).

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Class II railroad or Class III railroad, Amtrak or another Rail Carrier that provides Intercity Rail Passenger Transportation, University transportation center engaged in rail-related research, non-profit labor organization representing a class or craft of employees of Rail Carriers or Rail Carrier contractors, Transportation Research Board together with any entity with which it contracts in the development of rail-related research, and any rail carrier or rail equipment manufacturer in partnership with a state, group pf states, interstate compact, public agency or publicly chartered authority established by one or more States, or a political subdivision of a State.
