The IRC Program provides financial assistance to entities implementing Interstate Rail Compacts pursuant to section 410 of the Amtrak Reform and Accountability Act of 1997 (49 U.S.C.

Entities implementing Interstate Rail Compacts pursuant to section 410 of the Amtrak Reform and Accountability Reform Act of 1997 (49 U.S.C.
24101 note) are eligible applicants under this notice.
Under section 410, Congress granted advance consent to States to enter into Interstate Rail Compacts in order to promote intercity passenger rail service.
Entities implementing Interstate Rail Compacts means an existing entity, such as a commission, that has been established by member states to implement the Interstate Rail Compact.
