The roadway surface will be widened from two lanes to four lanes at railroad crossing 522663Y, rail mile post KH- 0. 21, (NS project 0 5. 1604) located approximately 225? south of State Street and approximately 350? north of Middlebury Street.
At this location, Prairie Street crosses both the Elkhart and Western Railroad Siding and the Norfolk Southern Main.
Because of this surface widening, crossing 522663Y will be upgraded with safety improvements that include new railroad warning devises.
