FY17 Locomotive Waste Heat Recovery System Integration, Safety and Field Demonstration (Phase III)

The overall Phase III main objective is to validate safety and reliability performance of the L-WHRS-retrofitted locomotive during commercial operations.

The results of retrofitting locomotive engines with the L-WHRS can be summarized as:
Decreased operating cost, increased engine efficiency,
