FY19 Wireless Digital Train Line (WiDTL) for Passenger Trains - Phase II

Study a Wireless Digital Trainline (WiDTL) system for passenger and freight rail services, to investigate the feasibility of providing a wireless interconnect approach for passenger trainline signaling and communication that meets and exceeds the railroad requirements regarding robustness, manageability,


and performance provided by the current analog trainline system.

This includes identifying and evaluating existing and upcoming technologies that are feasible for wireless trainline operation, utilizing comprehensive modeling and computer simulations.
