The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is announcing the solicitation of applications to award cooperative agreements in accordance with Section 413 (a), (c), and (h) of the Social Security Act, to participate in a Temporary Assistance for Needy Families’ (TANF) Policy Academy for

credit:


Innovative Employment Strategies (PAIES) project.

The PAIES is a series of interactive engagement and technical assistance activities designed to help state TANF programs develop, plan, and implement comprehensive, innovative approaches to increase employment outcomes for TANF participants.

State agencies receiving cooperative agreements under this Funding Opportunity Announcement will work closely with ACF program, and research and evaluation staff, the local evaluator, and other collaborative partners to enhance and improve career pathways in local TANF programs to improve TANF participants’ employment outcomes.

Career pathways provide training, work experience and support services designed to enable low-income, low skilled individuals to acquire credentials and advance in high-demand, growth industries.

The PAIES work performed under the cooperative agreements will inform the TANF field by documenting and disseminating emerging and promising strategies to increase TANF participants’ employment outcomes.

State government Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) human services agencies, including the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands are eligible to receive assistance.

Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from competitive review and from funding under this announcement.
