Reimagining Protein Manufacturing (RPM)

The Reimagining Protein Manufacturing (RPM) program aims to ensure timely DoD access to critical medical countermeasures (MCMs) by establishing the foundational technologies needed for fully distributed, on-demand manufacturing of protein-based MCMs and associated raw materials.

To achieve this

goal, RPM will develop technologies to enable immediate synthesis (lead time approximately 24 hours) of bioactive protein MCMs and raw material production enzymes at a yield corresponding to > 500 doses per week.

This technology will allow the DoD to rapidly secure access to both therapeutic proteins and enzymes needed for nucleic acid-based MCM synthesis, and reduce reliance on complex supply chains.
