Behavioral Health Workforce Development Technical Assistance Program

The purpose of the BHWD TA program is to support recipients of HRSA’s BHWD programs, including, Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Professionals, Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Paraprofessionals, and Graduate Psychology Education program,

and future BHWD program recipients.[1] The TA will help programs expand the number of highly trained behavioral health providers across the nation.

Types of eligible organizations If otherwise eligible, these types of domestic* organizations may apply.

Public institutions of higher education.

Private nonprofit institutions of higher education.

Nonprofits with or without a 501(c)(3) IRS status.

State, county, city, township, and special district governments, including the District of Columbia, domestic territories, and freely associated states.

Faith-based and community-based organizations.

Native American tribal governments.

Native American tribal organizations.

Current BHWD TA program recipient - The current BHWD TA program recipient, whose funding ends on August 30, 2025, may apply as a competing continuation applicant.

*Domestic means located in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the U. S. Virgin Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.

Individuals are not eligible applicants under this NOFO.
