Building Capacity of DRC’s Customs and Border to Curb Illicit Mineral Smuggling and Fraud

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U. S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to ensure that customs and border officers possess the knowledge, skills, and tools that enable them to effectively

detect and investigate illicit smuggling and customs fraud, particularly for critical minerals.

The project will revamp the current training curriculum of the DRC customs agency and implement a training program, which will include a train-the-trainers element and conducting trainings, as well as build the sustainability of customs officials to conduct their duties, including through transparent and functional procurement systems.
