The Department of State's Office of Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs is pleased to announce a directed announcement for a grant through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).

This announcement seeks to continue to support security and justice sector

stabilization in Syria.

The program will aim to help the moderate opposition respond to the rapidly changing environment within Syria and increase space for normal political, social, and economic activity to take place.

In the immediate term, it seeks to enhance the legitimacy of, and support for, the moderate opposition.

The program will strive to decrease risks of future violence and mitigate the growth of extremism.

Eligible applicants include U. S. or foreign non-profit organizations; for-profit organizations; private institutions of higher education, public or state institutions of higher education; public international organizations; and small businesses with function and regional experience International non-governmental organizations with principal bases of operations outside the Middle East and North Africa are also encouraged to apply.
