NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - Develop Interpretive Products for Pullman National Monument

This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications.

This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities without competition.

The Historic Pullman Foundation will work with NPS Staff to develop

two interpretive products to be used at the visitor information center—an improved updated film on the Pullman story and an interactive three dimensional map of the park.

The Historic Pullman Foundation is uniquely qualified to perform this activity as the owner and operator of the Historic Pullman Foundation Visitor Center which serves as the temporary NPS Visitor Center for the Pullman National Monument pending construction of a new facility by the NPS.

The Foundation has been working in the Pullman area for many years and has been operating a visitor information center there with volunteers.

They have many strong contacts and expertise in the area and the subject matter.

They have strong relationships with other community organizations in the area and have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the stories of Pullman.

The film is a continuation and update to the existing film shown at the shared visitor center that the Historic Pullman Foundation developed approximately twenty years ago.

It is more efficient to revise the existing product with this partner rather than fund and develop a new product for this temporary visitor center.

The Historic Pullman Foundation has used several maps to help visitors better understand the planned factory complex and integrated residential community.

We will build from their previous work and experience to incorporate the new monument boundaries and also add dimension to improve opportunities for visitor understanding of this unique resource.

Unique Qualifications – The applicant is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based upon a variety of demonstrable factors such as location, property ownership, voluntary support capacity, cost-sharing ability if applicable, technical expertise, or other such unique qualifications.

Melbourne social enterprise Who Gives A Crap sold nearly 3 million rolls of toilet paper in 2014/15 and gave half the proceeds to WaterAid Australia, but co-founder Simon Griffiths says the donation would have been less had the startup adopted a non-profit model when it launched two years ago.
