Vocational Support for Colombian Veterans with Disabilities
The Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the United States Department of State calls for an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to strengthen the rehabilitation and reemployment of Colombian National Police (CNP) officers and military
personnel permanently injured in the course of eradication, drug interdiction, rural security, anti-terrorism, anti-crime, and anti-drug trafficking operations; in cooperation with the CNP Directorate of Wellbeing (Dirección de Bienestar or DIBIE) and the Directorate of Veterans and Inclusive Rehabilitation (DIVRI).
The project must include design, planning, and coordination to provide rehabilitation services, vocational training, and re-integration into security positions in the public or private sector that allow beneficiaries to contribute to INL’s key missions.
Furthermore, the project must include the design of strategies to ensure these actions contribute to the development of long-term changes in Colombia’s disability rights regime with the goal of sustaining rehabilitation and employment opportunities for disabled veterans.
