OVC FY 2014 VOCA Victim Compensation Formula

Applicants are required to register and submit applications through the Office of Justice Programs’ Grants Management System (GMS) instead of Grants.gov.

See "How to Apply" on page 8 of the solicitation for details.

OVC will award each eligible state victim compensation program an annual

credit:


grant equal to 60 percent of what the state spent in state-funded benefits 2 years previously, other than amounts awarded for property damage.

Funds under this program shall be used by the states and territories for awards of compensation benefits to crime victims, with the following exception:
states may retain up to 5 percent of their total grant for administrative and training purposes.

Those applying are urged to begin in advance of the July 23, 2014, deadline.
