Investigating Mitochondrial-Nuclear Communication in AD/ADRD (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The goal of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to support research to investigate mitochondrial-nuclear communication in the context of neurobiology and Alzheimer's disease and AD-related dementias (AD/ADRD).

This research will transform our understanding of how mitochondrially

derived metabolites can impact nuclear gene expression and how changes to nuclear function can impact mitochondrial activity.

This has the potential to serve as the foundation for the development of future AD/ADRD therapies that specifically target mitochondrial function as well as shed light on the role that mitochondria play in aging and neurodegeneration.
