Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/ Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) announcing its intention to receive and consider the award of a cooperative agreement in fiscal year 2022 for Local Food Producer Outreach, Education, and Training for enhancing Food Safety and FSMA Compliance.

purposes of this support are to:
1. Build on previous work in this space relative to research and needs assessments, 2. Conduct and deliver outreach and training, 3. Develop and adapt materials, including alternate curricula, that facilitate the integration and understanding of federal food safety regulations, 4. Guide owners and operators of small and mid-size farms and businesses involved in local food production and processing, while taking into account diversified, sustainable, organic and identity-preserved agricultural production and processing practices.

5. Conduct research to evaluate the program including data collection and analysis, on the impact of education, outreach and technical assistance provided for the target audience.
