USAID Laboratory Specimen Transport Activity

Dear Potential Applicant/Offeror,USAID/Mozambique intends to design a new Laboratory Specimen Transport Activity that will engage a range of stakeholders—including government agencies, donors, the private sector, and think tanks—to enhance and improve the existing laboratory specimen referral


and diagnostic network.

This activity will focus on the collection, packaging, and transportation of specimens from health facilities to reference laboratories and the return of results to the originating points within the Mozambican public health system.

This is anticipated to be a five (5) year award (2026 - 2030).The purpose of this communication is to obtain industry comment and input on the above-mentioned activity.

More specifically, the RFI intends to:● Assess the interest of potential organizations in submitting applications/proposals for the new USAID Laboratory Specimen Transport Activity.● Gain technical and organizational insights in the capacity of potential organizations.● Explore innovative approaches to partnering with organizations working in the same area; and● Collect inputs to contribute to the improvement of the draft Scope of Work.
