Establishing a Global System of Regional Wildlife Enforcement Networks: Assessing Feasibility of an Andean Wildlife Enforcement Network and Building ASEAN-WEN Capacity to Combat Illegal Trade in Marine Turtles and other Marine Species

The Office of Ecology and Natural Resource Conservation of the Bureau of Oceans, Environment, and Science (OES) at the Department of State announces a Request for Applications for management of the project entitled, “Establishing a Global System of Regional Wildlife Enforcement Networks:

Establishment of an Andean Wildlife Enforcement Network ($49,500) and Building ASEAN-WEN Capacity to Combat Illegal Trade in Marine Turtles and other Marine Species ($148,500).” The Initiative aims to evaluate opportunities to develop and an Andean Wildlife Enforcement Network, and strengthen the marine turtle component of ASEAN-WEN training efforts.

The Grantee and its partners (if any) will work collaboratively with OES and U. S. Embassy staff as appropriate to further develop ASEAN-WEN and explore opportunities for an additional regional network to interdict illegal wildlife trade.

Total U. S. Department of State funding for this grant is $198,00 0. The Grantee is expected to do cost sharing.

Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) and International Organizations (IOs) with experience in the work described in the program goals and activities are encouraged to submit proposals.
