Supporting Economic Empowerment in the Pakistan Film Industry

The Public Affairs Section of the U. S. Consulate General Karachi (PAS Karachi) is pleased to announce an open competition for an assistance award through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), contingent on funding availability, through the Public Diplomacy Grants Program.

The project set


forth in this NOFO supports institutional capacity-building in the Pakistan film industry.

Pakistan’s film industry is growing dramatically.

This program will contribute to economic growth and improvement of Pakistan’s workforce capacity in this critical and growing sector.

The grantee will develop a short film competition, organize masterclasses, and partner with the Karachi Film Society (KFS), the parent body of the Pakistan International Film Festival (PIFF), or a similar organization to arrange attendance at the PIFF and organize related activities.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Submissions are encouraged from U. S. and Pakistani registered not-forprofit and civil society /non-governmental organizations, including film societies.

At least two (2) years of programming experience is preferred.

Applicants are expected to document priorprogramming experience if selected under this NOFO, and a copy of the organization’s registration must accompany the proposal.

U.S.-based non-profit organizations must provide a copy of their IRS determination letter.

Pakistan-based non-profit organizations must submit a copy of their certificate of registration from the appropriate government organization.
