Media and Communication Training for Women Politicians/Activists

The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U. S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).

PAS Kabul invites all eligible organizations to submit a proposal for Media and Communication Training

for Women Politicians/Activists.This project will provide training for Afghan women politicians/activists in communications and media relations, with a focus on bolstering their practical skills in the areas of messaging, public presentation and media relations.

The successful applicant will develop and deliver a training program that will include:
basic communications and media relations skills, including how to develop an effective message; how to develop an effective media outreach plan; how to develop materials that are used in press, such as press releases, charts and other visual aids; how to develop strong relationships with members of the media (print, TV and radio); and how to use Twitter and other social media (SM) platforms to project a message to the media or public and to build communities of supporters among social media users.

Eligibility is open to all types of applicants except for 1) individuals and 2) government entities.

Organizations may sub-contract with other entities, but only one entity can be the prime recipient of the award.

When sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.
