This program seeks to develop close ties between journalists
and media outlets in the United States and the countries of South and Central Asia, as well as build the ability of journalists from South and Central Asia to use social media and other technologies in their reporting, through a series of intensive three-week mentorship placements in the San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley area.
The countries of South and Central Asia are:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
This program reflects and supports the foreign policy goals of the United States.
Organizations must submit a proposal that falls between the floor of $250,000 and the ceiling of $275,00 0. SCA expects to award one cooperative agreement for an estimated maximum duration of 12 months.
