The United States Agency for International Development in Dhaka, Bangladesh (USAID/Bangladesh) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified organizations to implement a program entitled "Actions for Combating Trafficking-in-Person (ACT) Program."
Through
this award, USAID/Bangladesh seeks to combat human trafficking in Bangladesh through the prevention of trafficking-in-persons, enhancing the protection of the victims and improving victim care, and strengthening the Government of Bangladesh?s capacity to prosecute traffickers and trafficking related crimes to help ensure that the rule of law and human security is improved.
This ACT project will build upon current efforts in country, including those sponsored by USAID.
The scope of the activity will focus mainly on vulnerable populations, in particular but not exclusively on victims and potential victims of trafficking into the sex trade and the prevention of labor migration abuses and human trafficking related to migrant labor.
A comprehensive approach that includes Prevention, Protection and Prosecution, the three pillars of ACT activities as defined in the United States Government?s (USG) policies related to combating human trafficking, will be addressed in this activity.
This activity is expected to last four years and will have a total estimated US.
Government contribution of approximately $ 3. 5 million.
