Tuberculosis Control Project

The overall goal of this project is to contribute to the Russian Federation’s (RF) efforts to reduce tuberculosis (TB)-related mortality, morbidity and transmission of infection and prevent the development of drug resistance (DR).

In particular, the project will be focused on establishing of


outreach TB services which help to improve provision of directly observed therapy (DOT) and strengthen patient adherence to treatment.

In order to make the developed service models sustainable, the project will help local governments use available TB resources more effectively and strategically.

Qualified applicants may be U. S. private voluntary organizations (U. S. PVOs) and/or U.S., Russian or other non-U. S. non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or private, non-profit organizations (or for-profit companies willing to forego profits), including universities, research organizations, professional associations, and relevant special interest associations.

Public International Organizations (PIOs) and faith-based and community organizations are also eligible for award.

In support of the Agency’s interest in fostering a larger assistance base and expanding the number and sustainability of development partners, USAID encourages applications from potential new partners, particularly if they are joined with a more experienced organization.
