North Caucasus Microfinance Support Project

The Microfinance Support Project’s objective is to build capacity to deliver microfinance services in targeted geographical regions of the North Caucasus (NC) and thus increase employment and incomes in the micro/small/medium enterprise sector (MSME) and reduce the threat of violent conflict by providing


economic opportunities to those groups most likely drawn into conflict, and will be achieved through (a) improved and expanded microfinance services in the NC republics with increased outreach to larger population groups in the NC republics, and (b) improved enabling environment conducive for sustainable development and growth of microfinance in the NC.
