2010 New Entrant Safety Assurance Program

States and local governments are eligible to apply for New Entrant funds.

As noted in the original announcement, “FMCSA will initially consider funding for applications submitted on or before October 15, 200 9. After each of those applications has been reviewed and funding awarded, applications

submitted thereafter will be considered on a case-by-case basis, if any NE funding remains available.” At this time, approximately $532,000 of FY 2010 New Entrant grant funds have not yet been awarded, and are hereby announced for competitive application.

The closing date for application submission is August 04, 2010; selection and award are tentatively scheduled for August 30, 201 0. Upon award, these funds will remain available for expenditure through September 30, 201 1.
