Transportation Project Grants

The objective of this opportunity is to aid rural Alaskan communities in developing or improving transportation infrastructure.

Proposed projects must benefit rural communities, defined as populations less than or equal to 2,50 0. Regional transportation projects that impact multiple rural communities

are eligible.A list of example projects that could be the basis for a successful application is summarized below.

This is not a comprehensive list of eligible projects.

Rather, it is intended to communicate the scope and scale of project types that may be considered appropriate for consideration under this competitive opportunity.

1. Road development or improvements 2. Road safety improvements (including surface repair, dust control, fence repair, etc.) 3. Trail upgrades or improvements 4. Drainage and/or drainage structure development or improvement 5. Bridge development or improvements 6. Transportation planning and design 7. Waterfront development or improvementsThe funds made available via this NOFO are primarily intended to be used for actual implementation type projects although planning and design projects will be considered.The costs of repair and upgrade of equipment necessary for completion of a project should not exceed 15% of the proposed construction project.Full NOFO package is available at the link below.
