The Securing the Cities (STC) Initiative seeks to design and implement an architecture for coordinated and integrated preventative detection and interdiction of illicit radiological materials that may be used as a weapon (Radiation Dipersal Devises (RDD) or Improvised Nuclear Device (IND)) within a high

DHS strongly encourages a regional approach to domestic nuclear and radiological detection to reduce risk to major urban areas.

The effort covered by this announcement is focused on the New York City (NYC) region.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
DHS strongly encourages a regional approach to domestic nuclear and radiological detection to reduce risk to major urban areas.

The effort covered by this announcement focuses on the New York City (NYC) region.

DHS expects to receive a single application from a State or local unit of government, interstate or intrastate entity, or a special district, who will work with governmental entities serving jurisdictions within 45 miles of NYC.

DHS will only consider an application that includes appropriate entities that serve jurisdictions in the NYC area described in the full funding opportunity announcement.

Applications requesting assistance for other geographic areas will be returned without review.
