credit:

to support training and capacity building initiatives for future generations of conservation leaders in the region.

As such, the WWB-LAC program has supported the Graduate Program in Conservation and Wildlife Management at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Costa Rica since 1985 by providing funding for student scholarships, visiting professors, and practical field experiences that enhance coursework.

The WWB-LAC funds will be managed through a 27-month cooperative agreement that will allow WWB-LAC staff to work closely with the Graduate Program director and professors to include an interdisciplinary, ecosystem-based approach to training conservation leaders.

The long partnership between Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Costa Rica and the WWB-LAC has been highly successful, with approximately 260 alumni working in the region to date.
