The purpose of this document is to advise the public that NOAA/NOS/OCRM is soliciting applications to conduct a 5-year, applied research program that supports collaborative research in the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS).
The goal is to develop a national program that will fund/support
credit:
collaborative research projects that increases the capacity for effective coastal resource management and decision making in the NERRS.
This funding opportunity is not intended to support individual research projects or short term activities focused on local coastal and estuarine problems, but instead is meant to support development of a comprehensive national program to fund competitive, collaborative extramural science projects that are directly relevant to the priorities of the NERRS, and includes professional training, communications, and information and product transfer activities in partnership with NOAA and the 28 reserves around the country.
Funding is contingent upon the availability of Fiscal Year 2014 Federal appropriations.
It is anticipated that final recommendations for funding under this announcement will be made in April 2014, and that the program funded under this announcement will have an October 1, 2014 start date.
Total funding for this 5-year collaborative research program:
approximately up to $20,000,000 or $4,000,000 annually.Electronic Access:
