Great Basin Ranger Corp at Great Basin National Park

A.Project Goals â¿¿ The purpose of this Task Agreement is to support and stimulate work and training opportunities for a ranger corps crew leader and ranger corps interns to work with the visiting public, educating them about the park in various formats.

Youth from the ranches and


communities surrounding the park and Ely Shoshone tribe will be recruited.

The Ranger Corp will provide traditional ranger programs, education programs with youth and school groups, and developing their public communication skills through media projects throughout Great Basin National Park.

Personnel from ACE and NPS will collaborate to protect and manage natural and cultural resources that provide a public benefit, while also providing interns substantial opportunities to gain technical skills and life experiences through multiple program areas at Great Basin National Park.

Project areas that the interns will work with include, assisting with curriculum based education programs, providing ranger programs, and developing public communication skills.

B.Project Objectives â¿¿ â¿¢Provide opportunities for crew leaders and interns to learn technical skills and gain experiences.

â¿¢Provide community outreach to underserved communities surrounding the park.

â¿¢Provided traditional ranger programs and frontline visitor services â¿¢Learn skills in public communication through contributions to the parkâ¿¿s website, social media and other media
