Belfast Receives a $500,000 State Grant

The state Department of Economic and Community Development awards Belfast, Maine with a $500,000 state grant.


The grant will be used to improve a 6.5 acre area within the boundaries of Front, Cross, Miller, and Federal streets, an area just south of Main Street. Granite-faced sidewalks will be added, as well as forty on-street parking spaces along the curbs. New lighting will also be added along with an information kiosk, and sign boards will be put up that will lead pedestrians to the Belfast Common.
