Sunbury Village Seeks State Grant for Roadwork

Sunbury Village Council is currently pursuing a $149,000 grant and a $50,000 loan from the Ohio Public Works Commission to cover expenses associated with road construction.


Sunbury would pay $150,000 of the project cost and would pay back the loan over 20 years. While Sunbury received about $300,000 from the state, including a $75,000 loan, for road improvements in 2013, Mayor Tommy Hatfield claimed that the Delaware County village has never gotten back-to-back grants.
