Asia.

The OES goal is the environmentally sound management of mercury, specifically through the development of management options, with special attention to storage issues.

As countries become successful in reducing the use of mercury in products and in the Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector, recovering mercury in industrial processes, and recycling mercury products, they will need access to secure storage.

This grant is intended to support activities that further the process by which countries and/or regions in Southeast Asia are addressing the issue of the secure storage of mercury.

Countries that will be considered for this funding include Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Applicants must have significant experience working on mercury storage issues outside the United States.

Applicants are encouraged to partner or to engage with other institutions to leverage available funds.

Proposals should demonstrate creativity, substance, and relevance to the OES goal.

The initial period of performance will be for one year.
