Reducing Mercury Use in Indonesia's Small-scale Gold Mining Sector

To reduce the use and release of mercury from Indonesia's Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector.

This project aims to restrict the supply of mercury, making its use more difficult and expensive, to encourage miners to adopt mercury-free processing techniques.The project is expected


to build central and local government capacity to handle and store mercury that has been removed from ASGM activities and to address primary mercury mining and import.
